Who we are
Tu Motuhake can be translated as “to stand in one’s independence” The word “Tu” means to stand or rise, while “Motuhake” refers to being distinct, or self-determined. Together, they speak to the idea of standing strong in your own identity, values, and purpose.
Visualised as the natural unfolding of a koru into a fully unfurled fern. This symbolism reflects growth, potential, and transformation, demonstrating how individuals can progress from foundational support to full autonomy in a structured, measurable way.
The framework is organised around six key areas, each with targeted subfocus areas that capture both needs and strengths. This layered structure enables precise assessment, prioritisation, and tracking of progress, ensuring that interventions are intentional, efficient, and outcome-focused. Tu Motuhake also embeds accountability, collaboration, and education into every stage, creating a sustainable model that equips individuals to stand confidently in their independence. By providing clear insights into development and impact.
